This pertains to the power of prayers. I make no secret about having a long history of bipolar disorder, OCD, and PTSD. For the past 2 weeks Ive been in a severe state of depression. My mental status is not situational, thus, it is not caused by outside influences. I normally am manic, so this depression has been hard to handle. I have been under psychiatric care and on psychiatric medications for years. I have been hospitalized do to mood instability. I dont care what others think about this or me. I do get disgusted with child molesters, perverts, and murderers reportedly blaming their sick and cruel behavior on bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. There are more horrible acts occurring in the general population of sane people than in those who have chronic mental illnesses. Ones who suffer mental illnesses cannot reason them selves out of illogical thoughts, moods, or feelings any more than they can reason themselves out of constipation. I was a professional counselor for over 20 years. I have an M. Ed. in Guidance and Counseling and several post graduates hours. People often tell me that I dont look mentally ill. I have been going through crying jags and those who know me also know I am not a crier. I am able to appear more normal due to my history as a counselor and my education. My mother-in-law. Minnie Lou, and I were alone in the kitchen this morning and she asked me how she could help me and I answered, prayer. We held hands and she prayed aloud for me. I almost instantly feed a burden lifting off of my shoulders. I thank my precious Lord for this and for giving me such a wonderful and loving mother-in-law, whom I consider my mother. Prayer Works!!! By the way, I try to stay clear of mean and phoney baloney people who see kindness as a weakness and kiss the butts of hateful individuals who wouldnt pee on them if they were on fire. God tells us to love all people. I dont, however have to like them.
