This photo was taken during my moms last Christmas. Every year, after Christmas, she would tell us all It was the best Christmas ever. I honestly think this one was for her, as it was for the rest of us for many reasons. There was a special kind of magic in the air that day. My Brother was here from Cleveland, so we were all together, and my brothers and I had the best time just talking about old times and nothing. My mom fulfilled her bucket list by donating the money she would have spent on gifts to the Nashua Food Pantry, and as you can see here, she and Shaun had a wonderful time that day. She really liked Shaun, and I honestly think that if I ever dumped him, shed dis-own me and adopt him. After that Christmas was over, and she sent out her Thank you cards, to say it was the best Christmas ever, I felt a sense of peace from her. It was like she knew her time was coming and she was ready. It was important to her that all of us kids got along, and she saw that not only we could, but we would, and always stay in touch with each other and not squabble over petty stuff. 12 days later, we said goodbye to her. I guess the lesson here is, that family is important. They are the first friends you make, they are always there when you need them, and always there to share joyous times. It makes me sad when I hear about families that dont get along. Im very lucky to be part of MY family, and Shauns as well, as his share the same values as mine. I wish for all of you this Christmas to be able to spend time with your friends, family, and loved ones, and if youre squabbling with a family member, I hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive him or her and get along. It will be the best thing you ever did for yourself. Merry Christmas Mom... TY for teaching me the importance of Family and what it really means.
