This poem was written by our sweet friend TRACY right after Sandy Wayne left for the bridge one year ago (November 8, 2013). I read this often and feel like Sandy is speaking to me through sweet Tracy. I felt it appropriate to share this special gift with all of you on the eve of the one year anniversary of our Sandy Waynes flight to Heaven. o I Never Left Your Side God told me I could have three years, To teach you all I know I said that isnt long enough- Humans can be slow God said he searched the whole wide world, And had selected two- Angels to watch over me, It was Tommy, and it was You. He said he made me special, In everything I do And that you would spread my message, So Far and wide, and true. God said that you were special too- That you would learn real fast He had to choose the very best, For time on Earth wont last He told me Sometimes life will hurt, But youll never be alone, Youll have these two strong angels To love you, till youre Home I couldnt wait to meet you, There was much to do and say, And we have such good memories Hiding nuts, and how we played! All the fun with Lewis, with Tommy and with Sam And all the time spent in your arms Has made me who I am You spread my message far and wide, Just like God said you would do And you learned all the lessons That were put in front of you You gave me all the best you had Every single day And oh how much I love you, I so much want to stay Then one night God called to me, And told me in my dreams That the time was coming near To go back Home, it seems. But I just couldnt leave you I love you far too much To leave you all alone again Without my loving touch God said that he had other things To teach the two of you, But I told him I just have to stay- Theres so much left to do The fuzzy ones are on their way, And they will need to know How to play, and scamper, Who will tell them they have toes?? God laughed, and said All right then, I guess that you can stay Theyll see you in your spirit form You can teach them how to play So I got my little angel wings, And oh the times youve cried But momma please remember Ive never left your side. I sit here in your lap, while you cry over your tea And think of all the memories Of Tommy, you, and me. Im right here in your arms, When you think youre all alone When you watch tv, or when Youre talking on the phone. I sit there on my blanket, And wait for lullabyes I really want to rock with you Until you close your eyes I can still do all the things I did Before I got my wings But now my tummy doesnt hurt And I can fly, and sing! I sing to you, come morning, And I sing throughout the day, And I sing to you at bedtime When your weary head, you lay. I lay down on your pillow, And I curl around your head And I whisper softly in your ears- momma, Im not really dead I dont know if you can hear me yet, But someday soon, you will. Youll notice that the fuzzy ones Stare at the window sill I like to sit here by the glass, And watch the world go by, And here is where Ill always be- I never left your side. Ill be here every single day Ill watch you all grow old Ill be here summer, spring and fall And winter, when its cold And someday when God calls you Home Youll know I didnt lie, You wont be scared or lonely Because- I Never Left Your Side We miss you so much sweet Sandy Wayne.
