This poses so many questions to me I dont even know where to start!!! 1. How will this be received by those already serving who do not practice such customs? 2. How will a man with such facial hair comply with material readiness in the even gas masks are required? 3. How is this UNIFORM - to have some men bearded and others not? 4. How will you say it is okay for one man to grow out his beard bc he is a Sikh Muslim and not okay for a man who just wants to have a nice manly beard? 5. Wearing a turban is NOT the same as wearing a hat for a cover - how will you determine which is appropriate and if it is a religious conviction - wont they want to wear the turban at all times? 6. Where do you draw the lines? What if the men want to wear the mens garb of the middle east rather than pants and uniform shirts? 7. The Sikh American Muslims have been prevented from joining the US Military because they could not practice their religion AND wear a US Military Uniform - that said - how will these men react when they are forced to shoot another Muslim? Wouldnt that too be a conflict to being a Sikh Muslim - and if so, would they be trusted in the Theater of Battle - knowing they would not likely take up arms against other Muslims in the event they were required to?!?! 8. And what of the topic of women? Would Sikh American women Muslims be allowed to join the US Military and if so - would they too be required to follow Military Code or Sikh Code? 9. What of US (Apostolic or Heath for example) Christian women who hold a conviction of not wearing pants - would their convictions be honored and thus we allow women in the US Military to wear shirts - in order to “places a high value on the rights of members of the military services to observe the tenets of their respective religions” and “reduce instances and perception of discrimination.”?!?!? Come on!!! PLEASE tell me this is not where America is heading - a Muslim led Nation?!?!?!?
