This post is a warning of sorts. In the coming days, weeks, and maybe even months, in addition to random and nonsensical reports about my major life events, I am also going to begin typing about Jesus again. I have known for some time now that I have a certain itch to communicate about Him. Why here on facebook? 1.) I like to write. 2.) I dont fully understand the Church, and am not sure how to exist there. 3.) Writing a book is a lot of work. All of these aforementioned circumstances combined together leave me with Facebook, for now. That being said, I know many of you have mostly closed the door on this sort of talk. This is a big part of the reason I wish to communicate. I would consider it a personal kindness if my unchurched facebook friends would give some of my future posts an open minded listen. I am not claiming to be a fantastic writer. I am convinced, however, that the person within the books Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John is a great deal more compelling, relevant, and possibly, flat out, different from the impression the Church may have left with you. Im not looking to argue things out. I wont fight with those who love to fight Christians. I know I am rightfully powerless to change your minds. I am merely talking to those who can still muster an open enough mind to hear me out. Im just asking if some of you would crack the door open just a hair and humor me. My focus is going to be concerned with answering the question, What would stand out as obviously distinguishing and remarkable about Jesus if an unchurched person really sat down and tried to understand what the Gospels say? I think that what immerges about Jesus is not being understood very clearly at all by attending and listening at Church. This project is..... Coming soon...
