This post is for people who assume they know why a woman stays with her abuser. Not every story is exactly the same. It is not your business to know or assume or pass judgment. I left my abusive marriage 15 years ago. He was a quiet abuser. A twisted arm, a silent death threat, a kick to the back, a fist to my face, awful name calling, and controlling. I was in his words...property. Some people even told to me to stay...til death do you part...right? I chose life over death...I chose my childrens safety over my own. It took time...it took an escape plan. I will never consider myself a victim. I know many woman who have been in my shoes. This post is not for pity...this post is only about survival. And surviving a domestically abusive relationship can even take years. So to the people who assume they know why women stay...get your ass beat by a guy for awhile and listen to what a piece of shit you are and how you will never be anything without him for years. And than you can put in your two cents. Rant over. Have a nice day!! Be happy and love yourself...because sometimes you are all you have!
