This post is from my daughter Erin, today. We are thanking God for allowing Bill to be taken off the breathing tubes etc. After 12 days in ICU on what is essentially life support my dad was able to be extubated today!!! In addition to that the Dr.s have changed their initial diagnosis of Guillain Barre syndrome to Transverse Mylenitis. We are ecstatic to hear no GB. The TM is bad in and of itself but not as bad as the GB. Dads meningitis is clearing up too. He still has lower body paralysis, but they are hopeful that that will go away in about six weeks. He still has a long road of recovery ahead of himself, and physical therapy/rehab. But today could not have been a more Merrier Christmas for all of us!!!! Please continue to pray for my daddy as he is still in ICU and his overall hospital stay is not finished.
