This post is just to clear up some foolish ungrounded talk about my son which took place today . In the spring Tyler experienced a tremendous injury to his jaw in the first inning of a baseball game. He fractured it in three places during the first inning but finished the game, thats pretty tough in my book for any coach or student who wishes to question his toughness... Due to his injury he missed the last several days of school and did not take final examinations which resulted in a report card that is not likely a true reflection of his performance. He was accused of not playing football because he did not have the grades. Tyler has never before had an issue with academic eligibility..This is not the case. He is not playing football because I encouraged him not to following last season and after the injury in baseball I refused to allow him to play. Additionally he has lost lots of weight and strength due to being wired shut and eating soup for 7 1/2 weeks. His grades will likely be adjusted..he assures me that he had decent scores before the injury and his doctors excuse exempted from school until June 10th. So if you hear these things please know that they are false. I wish the football team all the luck in the world this year. I hope they have a great season. I know they have been working hard in the off season. Some great kids represent Sherman High School, my son just could not be one of them this year so please give him a break as he tries to regain strength and prepare himself for what we hope will be a great basketball season.
