This posting hopes to stimulate interest of our Sarasota Area Slow Foodies in celebrating our local craft breweries. Ive seen a posting from the San Francisco Slow Foodies of their SLOW BEER event for such a purpose. I think its time to do a similar event here for Sarasota & Manatee counties. Besides commenting on this posting, I highly recommend attending the grand opening on Tuesday, Jan 21, 2014 of the Motor Works craft brewery in Bradenton. For hours and details of this opening see https://facebook/MotorworksBrewing FYI - we are in the midst of a significant expansion of the number of local craft breweries. For example, in the next few months we will have no less that 5 openings for our enjoyment and support. In Manatee County there are the Motorworks, Darwins Brewing Co., and Little Giant craft breweries (see article at: bradenton..... In Sarasota County the Jdubs craft brewery is slated to open (see article at: ticketsara...) and the Big Top craft brewery recently opened (see article at: heraldtrib...) to join the ranks of Sarasota Brewing Co. and Darwins on the 4th craft breweries. I hope that this posting wets your whistle enough to help generate enough interest in our Slow Food chapter to organize a Slow Beer event. It can be another way for us to celebrate and support our local artisan beverages and foods. DRINK LOCAL . . .
