"This presentation made me comfortable with the idea of simply walking away from federal funding of education. That used to be a Republican talking point back when people still remembered the days before Washington asserted a role. This presentation revives that history, and forces us to confront the results of this experiment. Federal involvement in education has hardly improved our citizenry, it adds another expense the federal government can’t afford, and it offends the concept of local control."
