This promises to be a historic and educational event. To commemorate the 60th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education and the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, UMKC School of Law and Michigan Sate School of Law are co-sponsoring Pursuing the Dreams, a program that will bring together the litigants, attorneys and others who were involved in the Supreme Courts landmark decision, the passage of the Civil Rights Act, and the subsequent struggle for diversity and equality in education. Pursuing the Dreams will include a play on April 9 and speaking engagements April 10-11. Unless otherwise noted, all UMKC sessions will be held at Pierson Auditorium. Speakers who are live at MSU will be viewed by real-time video conference at UMKC. View the full schedule at law.umkc.edu/pursuingthedreams/program.asp. All symposium sessions, including the Joseph Cohen lecture, are FREE to the public. No RSVP is required.
