This quote really spoke to me today after attending a porcelain painting school in Missouri last week. I was truly "in over my head" with the subject of white horses, but this "gem" from Tea and Soren Kierkegaard, puts everything in perspective! "It is only in relation to a human artist that those who know him well and are close to him in his everyday life, discover that he is not so great. But in the case of the artist who weaves the carpet that is spread over the field and who produces the loveliness of the lily, the more closely He is known, the more wonderful He is seen to be, and the closer we get to Him, the greater the distance our adoration reveals."
