This recent comment bears repeating! Statistics show that dollar stores primarily serve the low-income population, but the chains that sell items for more than $1 (e.g., Dollar General and Family Dollar) actually take advantage of the poor. They sell small quantities of essential items (like diapers) so the unsuspecting customer thinks theyre getting a better deal than at Walmart, etc. because the price is less. But actually the per-item price is more than the big box stores. In other words, Dollar General preys on the poor while littering our landscapes with crappy looking buildings and locations that create major traffic hazards for the surrounding community. BOYCOTT DOLLAR GENERAL.
