Unfortunately, the American people are only hearing about it this week. It was in May 2004 that former Florida US Rep. David Weldon, also a doctor by profession, chastised the CDC and IOM (Institute of Medicine) for using false data to repeatedly declare that the MMR vaccine is safe when there was so much mounting evidence that it is not. The site VaccineTruth.org published the former Congressman’s 2004 press release addressing the CDC’s planned report to the IOM on MMR safety, “This report will lead many clinicians to believe that thimerosal is safe and there is no problem with the MMR; however, it will do nothing to allay the concerns of thousands of parents of autistic children. It will only drag the IOM under the cloud of controversy that has currently engulfed CDC. This concern is what lead me earlier this year to request that Dr. Julie Gerberding delay this meeting and report.” Keep all of those names handy. One week ago, Natural News began publishing daily articles exposing the purposely-hidden link between MMR and autism. And those names are all at the center of the cover-up. Doctor and former Congressman Weldon’s statement goes straight to the heart of today’s controversy when he said, “The IOM is not immune to error and has been forced to reverse itself before…With regard to the MMR vaccine, the IOM review of this matter is totally premature; the NIH is only now attempting to duplicate the work of Dr. Andrew Wakefield. David Weldon wasn’t just correct in his warning ten years ago, he was downright prophetic. At the exact same time he was making his 2004 public announcements questioning the credibility and motives of the CDC, IOM and the CDC’s Director Julie Gerberding, Dr. Julie Gerberding was embroiled in her own secret fight inside the CDC. One of the agency’s senior researchers warned her in writing that her planned speech to the IOM that there was no link between the MMR vaccine and autism was untrue. His own research at the CDC had proven there was a connection, especially in African American males. A copy of Dr. William Thompson’s letter to his boss, CDC Director Julie Gerberding, was published online by Natural News last week. It was Natural News that first publicized the revelation that a CDC whistleblower had come forward a few days ago and confessed that he has kept quiet for a decade, but he won’t stay silent any longer. That whistleblower is the same Dr. William Thompson who tirelessly warned his supervisors in 2004 that the MMR-autism link had been proven and documented in the CDC’s own study. What Thompson and the CDC’s research found was that the MMR vaccine caused a 340% increase in autism cases among African American males. But the executives at the Centers for Disease Control had no intention of letting that fact get to the American people. CDC Director Julie Gerberding would be paid handsomely for her actions in the form of going directly from the head of the CDC to the position of President of Merck Pharmaceuticals - the same corporation that manufactures the MMR vaccine. In a follow-up report from Natural News continuing their breaking coverage of the scandal, the publication announced, ‘Today I can report that I now have in my possession CDC documents which prove beyond any doubt that the former head of the CDC, Dr. Julie Gerberding, actively participated in willful scientific fraud in order to bury clinical evidence linking the MMR vaccine to a 340% increase in autism among African-American children. Yes, the CDC knew that MMR vaccines caused autism in black babies, and its top scientists actively conspired to cover up that fact for the last twelve years.’ The MMR-autism cover-up According to over 100,000 documents just released by CDC whistleblower Dr. William Thompson, almost immediately after Thompson wrote his letter to Director Gerberding, CDC officials went to work changing the results of their MMR-autism study. The above-linked Natural News report explains how it occurred. ‘In response to this letter, the CDC took deliberate action to retroactively alter the outcome of the autism study by arbitrarily eliminating most subjects from the study, thereby shrinking the sample size to a small data set which would not achieve statistical significance,’ the report details, ‘This is a clear and irrefutable case of scientific fraud. This fraud allowed CDC scientists such as Colleen Boyle to testify before Congress that there was “no credible link” between MMR vaccines and autism.’ When Natural News and a host of vaccine-truth organizations began publishing the whistleblower’s revelations and leaks last week, the multi-billion-dollar Washington-Wall Street PR machine began a campaign to discredit those republishing the leaked CDC documents, going so far as trying to destroy their reputations in a typical tactic to hide the truth from the people. I am a Senior Scientist with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, where I have worked since 1998. I regret that my coauthors and I omitted statistically significant information in our 2004 article published in the journal Pediatrics. The omitted data suggested that African American males who received the MMR vaccine before age 36 months were at increased risk for autism. Decisions were made regarding which findings to report after the data were collected, and I believe that the final study protocol was not followed.’ So, as far back as 2004, the CDC knew the MMR vaccine caused a 340% increase in autism in African American babies. But they, along with the help of America’s corporate-owned media companies, successfully covered it up for the last ten years. Media guilty of MMR-autism cover-up Showing just how blatant the Wall Street cover-up of the evidence that the MMR vaccine causes autism is, as recently as the past three days a blatant campaign has begun to censor these damning revelations from the American people. A follow-up report from Natural News uses CNN as an example to show just how far-reaching the cover-up is. The story of a high-ranking CDC whistleblower coming forward, confessing to the agency’s cover-up of the vaccine-autism link is a huge story and it will probably never be allowed on America’s cable or network TV’s. But CNN’s website publishes a host of stories, above and beyond what the 24 hour news network has the time to broadcast on-air. Two of CNN’s own reporters published the news of Dr. Thompson’s confession and the evidence that the MMR vaccine causes autism. The first CNN news article stayed up on the CNN website for 19 hours and was shared 17,000 times before the network removed it. The author of that report came forward to tell of his experience with CNN executives, “I wrote the CNN iReport. The producer contacted me and wanted to know how I know what I know. I gave her contact info for Hooker, and also for Thompsons attorney. I took her through the entire Hooker/Thompson timeline of events. I told her what else is coming soon. The producer said she was calling Hooker right away and that if they verified the story they’d put it back up. Hooker said they never called. The story is still down.” Brian Hooker is the physician and vaccine-truth activist who the CDC’s Dr. William Thompson first contacted, and then released the 100,000 pages of documentation to. Perhaps the most revealing response has come from the obsessively pro-vaccine movement. One of those groups, ScienceBasedMedicine.org, published a response to Dr. Thompson’s leaked evidence that the MMR vaccine causes autism. After dedicating countless pages to engage in a smear campaign of derogatory and abusive remarks about all the vaccine-truth activists, the site finally answers the question it asked itself in the beginning of the report - “So is Hooker’s result valid? Was there really a 3.4-fold increased risk for autism in African-American males who received MMR vaccination before the age of 36 months in this dataset? Who knows.” Maybe the pro-vaccine movement doesn’t know. But the vaccine-truth movement now does. And the CDC’s own whistleblower summed it up this week when he said, “Oh my God, I did not believe that we did what we did, but we did. Its all there. This is the lowest point in my career, that I went along with that paper.
