This scandal (one of many) is absolutely despicable and shocking. To think that so many lives were destroyed by the church in Ireland because of a medieval attitude towards those who needed help (unmarried pregnant girls) from the church but instead punished them so cruelly. The real sinners were those who had the power to do good, but instead allowed themselves to be moved by the power of pure evil. And that is what it is. It has nothing to do with the `will of God`. As I am so often reminded by the teachings of Christ, `But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.` Amen.
