This seems a strange article to me. Apparently (according to the author) Jenson Buttons future at McLaren is doubtful because McLaren are in the driver market trying to persuade Fernando Alonso to rejoin them. Firstly, I dont think Fernando Alonso will step foot inside the McLaren garage EVER again - especially not as long as Ron Dennis is there. And thats even if they were a winning team right now, which they are not. Secondly, if McLaren really are to consider ditching one of their drivers, I feel they would be more likely to consider ditching their rookie at this point, who has been outperformed by Jenson Button pretty consistently this season. The author has also suggested that McLaren have approached Lewis Hamilton for a return. I feel a McLaren return is more likely for Lewis than for Fernando, but the way things are going for McLaren right now... it would be tough to persuade him. The author concludes by mentioning Sebastian Vettel, who he touts as a remote possibility. I find this strange, because out of all the drivers so far mentioned I see Vettel as the most likely candidate of the lot. We all know the genius behind the Red Bull car is going to have his attention drawn elsewhere from now on, so it could be a smart move to drop the team at this point for the promise of a McLaren Honda revival. With four championships under his belt, at such a young age, he can afford the gamble and also its generally accepted among F1 racing fans that a driver earns far more respect if he earns titles at two different teams than if he only stays at the one team. It shows that the driver can generate championships with different cars and by working with different people. It kind of validates his skill as a driver.
