This seriously just happened... my mom Val and dad Tom and Peg and I had dinner at their cottage, then played games. So Peg and I run over there, to their front porch, and there is a giant, black cat, bloody and dead, on their front porch. It looked like a GSW (gun shot wound)- poor thing must have got shot and stumbled to their front porch. Tom and Peg took care of the remains, and Val scrubbed the porch with bleach.
