This should be a day of reflection. 50 years ago, JFK delivered a major speech about African American civil rights; George Wallace, the Governor of Alabama, stood in the door way of University of Alabama to block the entry of three African American students and he said "Segregation today, Segregation forever" and most significantly, Medgar Evers, the NAACP Field Director of Mississippi was assassinated. At time the day was both uplifting and miserable. Progress!
