This simple family activity is shocking in its implications, as captured by award winning photographer, Brent Stirton. We learn what we are taught, especially when taught by our parents. We can see the child has not comprehended why the object brings such glee to his parents, but he will learn to mimic it. Sadly with 1 billion Chinese, and counting, demand for carved ivory will cross to the next generation. We find this horrifying. There are not enough elephants to go around.
