This story is about a young woman, Amanda Canale, who I am very honored to know. Her mom says "She was born with a rare blood disorder that affected her immune system. She had to take GCSF in the form of shots everyday, and spent most of her life in the hospital. She was diagnosed with leukemia at the age of 23, and because of her blood disorder she could not just have chemotherapy and radiation because her system could not repair itself. They gave her less than a week to live, and with the grace of God what seemed to be at the last moment we got a call saying they had a 99% cord blood match from an anonymous donor. Amanda would not be here today if a precious wonderful lady would not have donated her cord blood when her baby was born. I may never have an opportunity to meet the lady that saved my daughter, but I will forever be grateful and in her grace for what she has given to me. This is certainly not something I ever thought about when my children was born but technology has come so far since that time that it gives us the ability to save the lives of others with just a tablespoon of cord blood. If you could only take a minute to read this and think for every baby that is born in the world another life could be saved. Every single woman having a child has the ability not only to give life but save a life. If you are pregnant please think about donating your cord blood." Please share her story so that more lives may be saved.
