This story more clearly states the significance of the 12,600 year old Clovis child’s genetic lineage. It clearly places the Clovis people as the founder lineage for all south and central native Americans along with most north Americans . Eskimo-Aleut cultures of the Arctic are clearly a much later migrant from the Siberian coast, only spreading from the Alaskan coast into the Canadian arctic within the last 1500 years. The Na-Dene language cultures of Western Canada clearly belong to different lineage but its origin is not settled. It has been proposed that the Na-Dene cultures belong to a later migration out of Siberia around 6 to 8 thousand years ago and might be linguistically connected to the Yeniseian language group of central Siberia. This sinks the Solutrean hypothesis of a migration out of Europe.
