This time four years ago I was newly pregnant and should have been terrified. Matthew Noblin and I hadnt even been married a year, and I was working all. the. time. for about six different colleges; Matt was working all the time managing the lab, and we were both uninsured. We were completely unprepared for a child and had in fact decided that we were going to be that strange childless couple that people always wondered about. Then I took four pregnancy tests in a row that all came up positive. I sat on the toilet in the hallway bathroom and yelled to my husband, Dude, I think you knocked me up. He had to stay home from work the next day because he was in such a state of shock. Like I said, we should have been terrified. But we werent, and never for one second did it occur to us that what wed created was anything other than what was meant for our lives--finally, a purpose. So on this Easter Sunday, I will celebrate not only the fact that He is risen but the love that He put in our hearts for a child we never knew was our destiny.
