This time, there will be Voters Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines in some of the polling booths. These machines will print the name and/or the symbol of the candidate against whom you have pressed the button on the EVM. The paper slip will remain visible, behind a glass screen, for 7 seconds. Then it will drop into a compartment in the machine. This is to verify if your vote actually has gone to the candidate of your choice. Since you cant touch the paper slip, you dont have to bring it out of the booth and reveal your choice (or, in most cases, prove your loyalty!).
