What A Precious Gift....The Lil Girl Didnt Give Up I didnt think I would ever be a mother until one day a wee little girl from our local housing project came alone to church, dressed shabby, no shoes, lice in her hair, neglected. She sat near me and whispered to me that Im going to be her mum. She pursued me and eventually convinced child protection services that she wanted to live with me after her birth mother made some huge parenting errors. Childrens services encouraged me to adopt her. Every time she was put into foster care she ran away and ended up at my place. She ran away & travelled miles alone on trains without ticket or supervision just to get back to me. . I kept saying no, she said yes, I said maybe, she said yes...I was single, living in a superb one bedroom apartment over looking the city skyline, magnificent career, long hours, church service, independent. I was scared i couldnt do it alone, couldnt afford it. I thought I had no space for a child until God showed me how to give this child my heart and love her the way she needed to be loved by a parent. Me as her parent. I brought her up & we loved each other and she is my daughter and I am her mother. And most importantly, she has grown up knowing the beauty of having her own personal relationship with God. And through her God has healed my heart that was in pain from long ago. He showed me love Id never known. Wow! My child chose me. What a heavenly gift. By Frances Rodrigo
