This tragedy again brings to the forefront the use of guns against family members (which is far more common than the NRA will acknowledge). It also addresses the issue of PTSD in the military veteran; and in a way, most chilling, is the issue of how young (and older) men deal with rejection, betrayal and jealousy. How do some do it? Kill the ex-girlfriend or ex-wife. This was apparent in the recent school shooting in Washington - where a 14-year-old boy took out his anger and feelings of betrayal against his ex-girlfriend by killing her and several of their mutual friends and his relatives. We see it every day. The man who was responsible for two murders in the hostage situation in Sydney yesterday had previously killed his wife (or ex-wife). A new FB friend just recently posted a situation where a woman and her two dogs are hiding in the woods, because of someone (husband? ex-husband?) who is out to find her and kill her. What can be done about this? This is an epidemic.
