This unfortunate yet obvious fact notwithstanding, the colonial masters had to keep the country one inorder to effectively control his vital economic interest concentrated mainly in the more advanced and Political Unreliable south. Thus for administrative convinience North and Southern Nigeria became amalgamated. There after the only thing we had in common became the name of the country, which was not sufficient bases for true democracy. Personally, I attributes nigerias problem to the legacies of their colonial masters for which there is need to reverse every single bit of it for there to be progress. The colonial masters unity in diversity policy segregated people the more along ethnic lines as the never created an effective federal government that would had been the central driving force for general good leadership as well as largely reduce the effect of ethnicity. Lets just stop deceiving ourselves for we all know that in all honesty, Nigeria is not working not that we dont have what it takes to soar high but lack of unity, which is natural. The disparity between the two dominant religious belief is so tensed that the both party can hardly work out development together since location, religion and otherwise will everly inspire both thereby injecting biasness and untruthfulness in all reform. Finally, no matter how hard we try to run from our shadow it will always hunt us whenever there is light. So lets just stop beating around the bush
