This very complete video by Shawn Ray is NOT for the average guy who aspires to compete as a bodybuilder. He tells it and shows it like it is. Its why only the most motivated, gifted and driven people rise to the very top of this game. Very few can hack this level of work and dedication, which still does not guarantee youll become a champion. Like him or not....the amazing work ethic can not be disputed. He, as well as his peers of his day, had a work ethic which is not evidenced too often these days. Still, any lifter can learn a sh-tload of information if they actually listen and watch the entire video. Though it was made 15 yrs ago, nothing about the fundamentals necessary to reach the highest level in the sport is all that different. Having been in the game for more than 40 yrs now...and despite never coming close to that level, watching this brings back all the intensity, pain and love of the iron which I remember all too well. Guys like Shawn have forgotten more about the sport and what it REALLY entails , than most of us will ever know !! And yes, he has been rewarded handsomely financially due to not only reaching the high pro rank...for so many years, but for using his head and applying business savvy to maximize his income and make big bank! Its kinda funny to me how many of todays up and coming (still amateur) competitors dont respect the man for what he has accomplished. I dont think that really bothers him in the least! Ive met him more than a few times, he has been nothing short of truly friendly....albeit a bit cocky LOL . As if champions in any sport dont have a bit of arrogance at times....Ha Ha...I covered for him pretty well. Screw it....hes earned it....and most cant even hope to reach the level he and a scant few have reached....But...we still try!!!! And thats a good thing!
