This video does show how Black men are treated in this country. My question is why? I think it has to do with pop culture and how Black men have been portrayed in movies, radio and TV since the 60s. People grow up with what they think certain ethnic groups do. But the perception of how Black men are is just taken to far negative. I agree that the situation in Ferguson, MO is bad but I dont think it will be solved because you have a community that has lost faith in its police force. Until the force has been changed to include a better rep of the community. There will just be unrest. That situation really isnt about white or black its about police killing unarmed people. And this video shows you just how easy it is for a Black man to be viewed as a threat without doing anything to provoke a response for the assault he takes. I have experienced this and I tell you this. If you have never been profiled then the polices reaction could be justified to you. The one anchor explains why it just doesnt make sense for the escalation. Those that have been profiled understands this happens to often. I challenge you to go into a neighborhood that is not majority your ethnicity and see how easy it is to feel alone and wonder why so many people are just looking at you like you have done something wrong. I dont think that all cops are like this and I have family members and friends that are on the force but to deny there is a problem is the same way people viewed Black men back in the 50s and 60s. Not until its put in your face will anyone really react.
