This video is appalling ... but demonstrates labour relations as well as police brutality in Uganda. Mukwano industries needs to work on its reputation especially regarding exploitation and failure to protect employees as these stories have been going on for decades. This man is entitled to not only healthcare from Mukwano industries for what was an industrial accident resulting in severe injury that has left him disabled for life but also for compensation. In addition, Mukwano industries should be investigated with regards to workplace and safety issues and suitable fines and remedies demanded with the threat of shutdowns and punitive damages if they fail to comply. Across the board the failure to protect employees is a common complaint among workers in industries owned and run by so called foreign investors! These policemen should be charged and demoted or discharged dishonourably from the force after serving their sentences. its high time the police recognised that their primary job is supposed to be protecting Ugandans and not harassing or oppressing them which is what they seem to believe is their role!
