This video is dedicated in memoriam of the slaves who suffered the torture and degradation of their spirit under the auspices of slavery in this country and at the Woodland Plantation. This is a one minute video with EVPs captured in a three minute Echovox session on the second floor sitting room of Woodland Plantation, Pointe a la Hach, LA on 1/29/14 at 9:15PM. Bradish Johnson was a former owner of the plantation who reneged on his promise to his brother George when he bought the property to free the slaves during the Pre-Civil War African Diaspora to Liberia and give them $50 and safe passage back to Africa. While managing his family distillery in New York City, he left his overseer, Decker, in charge of the slaves and the plantation in his absence. Decker was cruel to the slaves and lecherous with their women. In these EVPs you will hear reference to beatings, whippings, and death.
