This video is not lighthearted. Some of it is offensive. I say this so you can choose to NOT watch it, because I know I have some friends who will want this disclaimer. This video proclaims a very powerful truth that God has used in my life to shake me awake from the slumber of apathy, hopelessness, selfishness and submission to my flesh, that the enemy subtly and constantly lulls us to sleep with. Its an advertisement from the Australian version of Child Protective Services. I share it because it reveals how desperate we are for Someone to change us. That Someone is Jesus. Little eyes are watching and learning. I know this will speak to some people. This video can lead to condemnation because it fails to share HOW to change so we can be someone our children can learn goodness from. Praise God for His grace. But for the grace of God, there go I. There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 The fact that my daughter catches more about my faith in God and how to live life, by watching me has pressed me deeper into my relationship with Jesus because I am SO DESPERATELY needy. My gracelessness towards her in her failures as she grows is as ugly to the Lord as any of these things I cringed at in this video. I want her to grow up FILLED with grace to love others in their brokenness. SO I need to model that. But how? I know I cant love others or live in ways that bless others, without Him doing the loving through me. Jesus changes us and transforms us as we look at Him and come to know Him more and more. He does the work. I abide in Him and move as He moves me. We love because He first loved us 1 John 4:19 The extent that I get this, deeper and deeper, more and more, over and over, by His grace, is the extent that I can live above my flesh. The extent that I allow Him to change me (because I see that He is good and gracious. He is not mad and irritated at my sins. Jesus took all that on the cross for me.) is the extent that I can love and be transformed. My actions reveal how much I believe this truth: God is good and loves me. This is true: God is good and loves you. Through an intimate relationship with Jesus, there is hope for change in every area of your life because Jesus has risen from the dead and that same power now lives in us. Romans 5:1-5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Lord set us free from the lies that bind us. Set us free to live and love as you do. In Jesus name Amen.
