This video makes me cry! I feel like this story is, in so many - TopicsExpress

This video makes me cry! I feel like this story is, in so many ways, our familys story as well. I cannot express the gratitude I have felt, especially in the past few days that Alexa has been home, for all of the support, prayers, letters, treats, money, and love we have received from you guys as a family. We would not have been able to to do it without all of you angels that the Lord has provided us with. I know that the priesthood is real and that our Heavenly Father is in every detail of our lives. Alexa, Mom, and Dad got home Thursday evening, and I have seen Alexa talk, laugh, and move in the past few days more than I have in the past couple of years. She was promised that she would return to full health in several priesthood blessings, and His promise is being fulfilled! Its going to be a long road of recovery still ahead over the next year, but she IS recovering! Whats even more miraculous to me is His tender mercies in which He shows His love. One of Alexas greatest fears with having the surgery was that she would forever be diabetic. She couldnt stand the thought of having to poke herself all the time. She went ahead in faith anyway, knowing that it would be a possibility for her. Although she would have survived and would have been fine if she had to be diabetic (there are thousands that are and still live normal lives), Alexa is receiving miraculous blessings in that department- starting with finding so many islet cells at the time of surgery! Many of the kids around her age have been going home on 30 units of Lantis (long lasting insulin) both morning and night and they have to correct every time they eat something (poke themselves). Alexa came home on only 5 units and never has to correct! She will most likely be going off of insulin altogether very soon! To me, this is such a manifestation that the Lord is so aware of our desires, and He wants to help as much as possible without taking away from ours or others freedom to make choices and without taking away from the experiences He knows we need to endure in order to grow. He loves us all so much, and I know, if we look for Him, we will find Him in the details of our own lives on a regular basis. How grateful I am for all of you that have been His hands in our familys lives! Thank you again!
