This video makes me sick. You dont have to read this...but here it goes. Evolution is the change in the inherited characteristics of biological populations over successive generations. We atheists believe this is true because it can be observed. These observations can be used to make predictions and can be repeated. So this dude is SEVERELY wrong within 30 seconds of this video ... but Ill keep going, because he does. When scientists use the word theory, it has a different meaning to normal everyday use. In science, a theory is not a guess, not a hunch. Its a well-substantiated, well-supported, well-documented explanation for our observations. Some people think that in science, you have a theory, and once its proven, it becomes a law. Thats not how it works. A theory never becomes a law. In fact, if there was a hierarchy of science, theories would be higher than laws. There is nothing higher, or better, than a theory. If any of you doubt this, I urge you to test out the scientists theory of gravity by jumping out of a window ... any height will do. No, life didnt come from some magical accident. That isnt what evolution is. Youre also confusing evolution with abiogenesis (evolution is what happens to life when given the pressures of its environment while abiogenesis is the process of life arising from non-living material). It is okay that you dont understand these terms or processes, just stop pretending you understand better than scientists. Also, The Law of Thermodynamics is something else youve misrepresented and completely fail to understand. First of all, maybe you misspoke (Im willing to bet you didnt) - but there is more than one law of thermodynamics. The argument youre TRYING to use (there are some religious debaters that use it more successfully) comes from the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics and deals with entropy. Basically, physicists have shot holes in every single argument that uses the 2nd law of thermodynamics like youve tried to. You should read about these topics before you talk about them. The sun does not go up and the moon does not come out. Im not even going to tell you how stupid this guy sounds at this part of his video. From here on out, everything he says is complete nonsense, and I dont even think HE believes it. A tornado goes through a junkyard and assembles a Lamborghini. This is your (unoriginal) understanding of how scientists view big bang cosmology and the beginning of the universe? If you have to use this simple terminology - the analogy would be more like a cosmic tornado going through a junkyard filled with all of the matter in the universe and assembles stars and planets, at least one of which creates life that eventually evolves with the ability to completely misunderstand what happened 13.8 billion years ago. Your intelligent design theory has no legs. Physics can explain our universe, so theres no need for a designer. Just because you cant explain the beauty you see in the world, that doesnt mean someone smarter than you cant explain the shit out of it. Atheists dont need supernatural things to explain what the natural world can. We dont need faith to believe what science teaches us. If were inclined to understand something enough, we can do the experiments ourselves. Science works even if you dont believe in it. And one last thing. Your etymology of UNIVERSE is wrong. Its from the Latin word universum. Uni meaning entire or whole and versus (past participle of vertere to turn). In other words, Turned into one. So nothing you said in your video made sense. Nothing in your video was factual.
