This video purportedly shows FAI chief executive John Delaney, the guy who stated time & again he was not trying to damage community relations in Northern Ireland with his associations increased attempts at player poaching, singing a pro-IRA song in a Dublin bar last Tuesday night. Undoubtedly there is muppets in our own support but there is thankfully the growing realisation that we need to make all backgrounds feel welcome & involved at our games. On top of this, we know there is always a lazy journalist ready to put the slightest slip up on the front page on a slow news day. The English FA issued a public apology when a section of their fans made anti-IRA chants on the same night. If any other football official did what the FAI boss did on Tuesday night they would no longer be in their job on Wednesday morning. Hes done enough damage to footballing relationships on this island. As their own support says, this man is not fit for his role, he should go or be forced to go.
