This video really made me think about the current aesthetic of the towns that make up Klang Valley. The ongoing gentrification of certain parts of KL and PJ that I grew up loving make my heart ache, not only due to the personal memories attached to these places, but also because the development of these areas are hugely disproportionate to their surroundings. If our shopping malls are built with form, comfort and convenience in mind, why shouldn’t our public spaces be designed the same way too? Take a minute (okay, fourteen) to dwell on this. Point number 5 especially. What exactly is the direction were taking with our city and why are we so inept at making it a liveable one?
