This video really resonates with me. I was living in Manhattan at the time of The World Trade Center disaster. Anyone, who was not actually living there cannot begin to know, let alone comment, on what it was really like. I remember so vividly that Manhattanites did not react or speak to Muslim workers of any kind in the manner displayed in this video (indeed, it was the antithesis.) My empirical experience displayed that all the Muslim workers, whether at delis, corner bodegas, markets, etc. all would say to me that they did not have anything to do with it and were appalled by it. That they in not any way wanted to be associated with the extreme political factions that truly did cause it and that they were proud Americans just as the rest of us. The soldier, in this video, is truly inspirational (a real warrior) who not only fought in battles of war; but, maybe even more importantly, took up arms to fight an even more insidious and important battle in standing-up against the extreme faction of our system that inanely perpetuates prejudice, bigotry, ignorance and downright low life tackiness, etc. that truly shames our great country. People who keep boasting that they are the "real" Americans and profess so much knowledge of our founding; but, are, in fact, so woefully ignorant of it.
