This video shows the pain that this family unit feels (the language, although harsh, is evidence of that). I feel for the UAB football team. Although I do not know all the details, I do know that a family comprised of people from all walks of life has been ripped apart. I know that a squad of 100 or more men from the age of 18-27 have lost a huge part of their life. I know that football has given every single player on this team hope for a better future and a college education. I know that the coaching staff, who has spent countless of hours away from their families, has lost their adopted children and their salaries that provide for their families at home. I know that a student body at UAB has lost a huge part of their college experience. I know that the city of Birmingham will ultimately face a deficit from this action. My heart goes out to the countless players, coaches, family members, students, alumni, and fans who have been and will continue to be affected by this decision. Although I am not a UAB Blazer, I feel for this community today! #freeUAB
