This video shows two classic novice mistakes often made when learning to ride a pace line, either one can have serious consequences, but when combined as here, at speed, the results can be catastrophic. Fortunately this rider got away without serious injury, and learned a harsh lesson – don’t ride on tri-bars in a line (unless you are on the front, or part of a team time trial with skilled and aware teammates) and don’t overlap wheels with the guy in front – you never know when he is going to need to make a sudden move sideways!
