This video was taken prior to Jacks surgery yesterday. Jack had his surgery yesterday, finishing late into the evening. Unfortunately, the situation was worse than we initially thought. His right rear hip was damaged far more extensively than realized, and the surgeons had to place two toggles around the hip to hold it in place. Despite being on antibiotics, the left front leg had gotten badly infected and that is now a major concern. The surgeons plated and pinned the front leg and placed antibiotic beads and a drain into the leg to deal with infection. The surgeons were unable to address any issues with the left hip/leg that was run over by the car due to the length of the surgery and time under anesthesia. We know at this point that Jack will require at least one more additional surgery, if not more. We will need to adjust his fundraising goals as he recovers and more information comes in this morning. We know yesterdays procedure was about $5000. Then, there are other medical bills that he has accumulated in the last week. Jack has demonstrated a strong will to live (and LOVE) at this point and were committed to giving this boy every possible chance to survive and make as full a recovery as possible.
