This was an unexpected treat! Kuan Yin - the Goddess of Compassion & Mercy, (and very much part of what took me to Taiwan for 10 years, w/HUGE statues everywhere of her; Id been working with her via books, teachings & meditations for 2 years prior to ever even knowing about the international school system and prior to any conscious intentions of living in Taiwan at that time. Ironically 8 years earlier I had tickets from San Francisco around the world, and Taiwan was my ultimate destination after 6 months of traveling..but all of this is, as rich as it is, stories for another time. safe to say that I have an intimate entwinement with this goddess of mercy and compassion) - and her story of being the Goddess of the Sea told here in this enjoyable, modern film, w/some pure, basic Buddhist teachings. Really well done! - enjoy! Alison gives it a thumbs up/5* review for the story tightening as it goes along, great scenery, decent plot line, non-cheesy martial arts & substance. Amithaba...
