This was my view for the Smiles for Mija Color Run. It was an emotional day for me, highs and lows. I miss my friend dearly but mostly my heart aches for her being away from her family. Without a doubt, I know that this day was one that would make her crazy wild excited (even more than she normally was.) This day 100% totally encompassed who she is, people helping people, kids loving life and celebrating by having fun, people coming together to make miracles possible for those in need, volunteers everywhere you look, complete strangers becoming friends, smiles, laughter and tears, lots and lots of sheer JOY and LOVE. Being able to catch what I saw through my camera was such therapy for me, the outpouring of love and support. Everywhere you looked you saw a wonderful extended community rallying behind one wonderful woman and family. I was overcome by tears...over and over again, tears of joy and tears of emotions of someone whos spirit was so evident everywhere I looked. Mija, I can not wait to look through these photos with you one day soon my friend. You might have been in Lincoln making miracles, but I felt you everywhere I looked through my camera. I know you were here.... so proud to be in a large community who was able to raise $30,000 for someone they love.... (Love, Support and Prayers for Mija Stockman)
