This was our dinner last night. I had potatoes under the sling. I did not add any water as the roast chicken are always making lots of fluid. I started late, so did this for 4 and a half hours on high (normally I like to do one hour on high and 6 hours on low). The plan was to put my chicken in the oven to crisp up for half an hour, but we came back late from shopping and it was getting so late, so I did not bother. But what i usually do, is just lift the chicken and put it on baking tray (still in the sling) and potatoes also and pop in over to crisp up. I bought my sling, string & basting brush a couple of months ago from Ebay and it was under £8 including postage. I tried to find the correct wording and saw they have gone up a bit in price. Try searching SILICONE CHICKEN TURKEY MEAT LIFTER - SUNDAY ROAST KIT with BASTING BRUSH + MORE (i just copied this so excuse caps!) I knew we were going to go shopping so I decided to line my slowcooker with foil. Will do it in future again as I just left the liquid to go cold in the foil in the pot and threw the whole foil with everything away. So no chance of clogging up any drains.
