This was our second day with Lita. We found her in an abandoned unheated garage hiding in a box of T-shirts in -50 degree weather. She was an 1.5 lbs. fully grown cat. She was hypothermic and literally a few hours away from closing her eyes forever. But desperate mewling from a box, such a small thing saved her life. Upon us taking her into a warm car she had a seizure, and afterwards couldnt hold up her own head. She stopped breathing on my lap on the way to the vet four times. Now she is a healthy six pound calico, she is still very demanding and affectionate. Shes an amazing and overwhelming success story. Someday Ill go to a shelter and have a pet by slightly more normal means. But in the meantime Im quite happy with the strange tales on how my furry family was made. ~FL
