This was posted on a closed site that Im a member of. The writer asked that the word be spread. I think its a very important message so please read. It is 29th October once again. Just want to make this a worthwhile day instead of wallowing in sadness. Most of you will know our son Paul died at the age of 14 in 1991 on this day. He was knocked down by a car and killed. He was found to have headphones on him but it was never certain that he had actually been distracted by listening to music that caused the accident. But as it is the anniversary of the event, I would ask all my family, friends and their friends to consider sharing this story with all their folk. It is important to note that Paul was 14, but children of a much younger age are now walking along the streets using mobile phones and all sorts of gadgets that are a clear distraction from keeping yourself safe in times of crossing roads. Even cyclists and motorists. As Halloween and Christmas approaches there are more distractions along the way. I hate it when I hear of accidents especially at this time of year. So I would urge you to share this with friends and family, that if they are listening to music or any device, to make sure they can still hear what is going on around them, and to be extra careful when crossing roads because although YOU have taken the precautions to stay safe, OTHER DRIVERS MAY NOT and may have blaring radios and/or be on mobile phones which is against the law by the way. Anyway, please share this with your families and friends, this message is for all age groups, little children, TEENAGERS, people riding bikes and driving cars or any vehicle. No matter what you are doing, something could distract you, mums pushing prams and pushchairs. So remember when approaching the road please pay great attention to keeping yourself safe. Have a lovely day everyone, I feel happy now II have shared this with you all. Stay safe, keep your music down and be vigilant!
