This was the first message I saw when I got on FB this morning. Quite a synchronicity since Ive been facing an extreme challenge regarding our NEW neighbors puppy Remington, that has me at wits end, physically ill & in tears for several weeks now. I feeel absolutely awful that for the FIRST time EVER Im forced to just give up. My exhausting efforts to help socialize this LARGE & totally rambunctious puppy, so that hell be able to integrate well into a family & be kept inside as mine always are, have failed miserably & now all I can do is help to find him a new home which will very likely NOT be easy. For me this has been a nightmare, I wish so much that I could stop caring & feeeeling so much anguish over this & so many other similar situations. Initially I was determined to find a way to help by keeping him here as much as possible, but he is causing major havoc with my old boyz & I cannot for the life of me settle him down enough to tolerate him for any length of time. SURPRISINGLY he shows no interest in all the cats around here, which is one VERY good thing. His owner had some extreme schedule changes which keeps him away from home for days at a time (hes a fireman & a full time EMT student now too) So he leaves the puppy in his fenced in yard WITHOUT any shelter or supervision at all for DAYS at a time. Just this morning, after another ROUGH night with Remy, Im feeling like a complete failure. It breaks my heart to bring him back to that yard & leave him alone there once again because he cannot even settle down long enough to play normally or avoid jumping on people & other dogs like a lunatic! His size & strength make it really hard to interact with him at all. :(( I will be doing all I can to find him a suitable, loving a PATIENT family. PLEASE visualize my success in this regard for the sake of all involved. OH BLESSED BE! :S
