This week Art Foundations students created their own mandalas. Mandalas are spiritual and ritual symbols in Hinduism and Buddhism representing the universe. Its literal translation, in Sanskrit, is “circle. After learning about mandalas, students had the opportunity to practice creating their own patterns. They began with a simple element, and gradually made it more complex by adding additional shapes and lines in the negative space
