This week One of TRA’s Regional Arts Officers, Kylie Eastley, undertook a field trip to Smithton. Upon arrival on Monday Kylie met Lorise Clarke-the enterprise facilitator who took her on a tour and introduced Kylie to a few people. Tuesday was more info gathering and planning for the workshop that went from 10-2.30 and then Lorise scheduled 3 local artists to meet with Kylie. This took her through to the evening where Lorise and Kylie held another 2 hour workshop with the community, exploring the many local opportunities. Sue Popowski, ChARTs member, was one of the participants. On Wednesday Kylie connected with a couple of other artists to discuss various projects. Over the days topics such as funding via RAF and other opportunities were extensively covered. All in all it was a very good networking and information sharing trip that really profiled Tasmanian Regional Arts.
