This week at The Little Tree Preschool in Mobile, Miss Kristens class has focused on a unit about the grocery store. They have talked about what you can buy at the grocery store, healthy versus unhealthy foods, money and its value, and coupons. The class played grocery store bingo, made a collage out of coupons, and picked out their favorite foods to put in a grocery cart. Next week, they will be focusing on the theme of Bread and Butter. Miss Kristen is very excited to teach the children about different types of bread and the varieties that come from around the world. While Miss Kristens class has a new theme each week, they also discuss a letter of the week. They talk about the sounds of that letter, watch videos, and create many art pieces based on that letter- This weeks letter was H. Miss Kristen read the students a poem about a haunted house and the children made a haunted house out of colorful popsicle sticks and Halloween stickers. They were also given a picture of a hippo with different shapes. They were asked to count the shapes and circle the correct answer. During enrichment, the class made horses from a cut out of the letter H. We are all extremely excited to continue to celebrate the season of fall and the many festivities to come!
