This week has been Dylan Thomas week. Living myself in Dylan Thomas country I am lucky enough to live close to where he wrote much of his work in the small Welsh town of Laugharne. I have visited there many times to his boathouse which has been kept exactly as it was when Dylan lived there. The old green shed overlooking the estuary where he spent much of his time is untouched left just as he left it. Screwed up balls of paper thrown all over the floor, empty drink bottles on the desk and ashtray full of his cigarette ends. One of his greatest poems is Under Milk Wood but one of my favorites is Death shall have no dominion. Before I had moved to Wales I had never really heard much about Dylan, though since his work his words have made an impact on my life. To me Dylan was one of the greatest of his kind.
