This week has been full of reminders of the racism that has existed in this country/culture since its inception, and STILL EXISTS TODAY. Here we are celebrating another holiday based originally on white/Christian oppression. As Ive gotten older Ive tried to find new reasons to celebrate on holidays like this one, or those created/altered by greeting card companies. Its absolutely nice to get together with family or loved ones and be thankful for everything we have. Remember there are soooo many people around the world, AND RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER, who may not share in your privilege. May that knowledge affect how you live your life and interact with the people around you, on a daily basis, in a more positive and constructive way. I love you all and am so grateful to have you in my life. Im grateful for the opportunities Ive been given, the family that I have, the love you all share with me and the internet/space phone in my pocket that allows me to get warm fuzzy feelings from goofy looking cats and Murder By Death. xoxoxo
